Avery Veitel, PGA
Director of Instruction
Avery has been a PGA Professional since 2019, and has worked under industry-respected instructors such as Martin Chuck, Lynn Marriott, Pia Nilsson, and Ronnie Miller. His certifications include Titleist Performance Institute Level 1, Level 2 Golf, Power, and Junior, and US Kids Golf Level 1 Certified. Avery has been the Director of Instruction of AV Golf Academy at Ocotillo Golf Club since 2023.
Kevin Marugame
Staff Instructor
It has been Kevin’s privilege to work in the golf industry for the last 17 years. After graduating from the Golf Academy of America with an associate’s degree in Golf Operations, he began his golf journey at the Oakwood Club in Sun Lakes Arizona. He was the Head Golf Professional at the Ironwood Golf Club from 2018 to 2025. His experience as a golf teaching professional started in 2010. He became a staff instructor with AV Golf Academy in June of 2026, and is currently continuing his golf education as a PGA Associate with the goal of becoming a Class A teaching professional.
Gregg Veitel
Mental Game Consultant
Gregg spent over 25 years as a Physical Education teacher in the Mesa Arizona School District. Gregg also has over 15 years of experience coaching the game of baseball at the high school level, including two separate stints at Mountain View High School in Mesa and was on the coaching staff the year they won the state title in 1998. While at Mountain View, Gregg also became their mental coach and now that he is retired, brings that expertise to AV Golf Academy.
